The Marble Institute of America (MIA) recognizes excellence in commercial, residential and renovation/restoration of natural stone projects through its annual Pinnacle Awards. ABS Information Commons received an Award of Excellence for Commercial Exterior in the 2014 competition. The exterior of the building features variegated Ramon Gray limestone panels, which on average measure 2 x 7 feet. Before we can answer the question we have to know a bit about the project and the expectations of the flooring being anticipated. To start, its best to categorize the type of traffic the space is going to receive such as light, moderate, heavy or extra heavy. Next we'll want to know if the aesthetics are luxury, such as executive offices or super heavy duty such as a mall, for example. In addition we have to know if the flooring is going to be maintained regularly or almost not at all and if the maintenance is to be done by in house or contracted services on some type of routine basis.

Taj Mahal white quartzite was chosen for the kitchen island in this Colorado residence. The material, which was supplied by Cereser and fabricated and installed by Planet Granite, was resined and treated three times to fully penetrate the fissures. The quartzite is complemented by Antique Brown granite on the perimeter countertops. Further adding to the rustic elegance of the space is the rough-cut stone face of the countertops and backsplash.

Don Robinson, foreman with flooring contractor Flooring Systems Inc., applies TEC® Multipurpose Primer at Mercy Hospital Joplin. The hospital, which opens in March 2015, was built after the city's former hospital took a direct hit from a tornado in 2011. Flooring Systems Inc. and tile contractor Zickel Flooring used TEC® substrate preparation products, including TEC® The LiquiDAM® Penetrating Moisture Barrier, and flooring and tile adhesives throughout the space.
